1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small values stored in your browser and can be sent back with requests. Local storage keeps information on your device until it is removed. Database storage is held on our server and is not a browser cookie. Clearing a browser cookie does not delete the database information it previously linked to.

Better Auth session caching, social sign in and hosted authentication widgets are not enabled. We do not claim that inactive authentication cookie types are set. External Google services can change their cookie behaviour; our application controls whether translation loads, not the cookies on Google's own domains.
Local storage does not automatically expire. Guided forms ignore drafts older than 30 days, but an old value may remain until you clear it or the form overwrites it. Use browser controls to remove drafts on a shared device.
3. Categories and lawful basis
Strictly necessary storage supports sign in, security and services you explicitly request, such as saved progress, shortlists and currency selection. It does not require cookie consent where the UK and EU rules allow this exemption. The separate data processing bases are in our Privacy Policy.
Analytics helps us understand site usage. Marketing measures advertising. Both are optional, off by default and only load after you accept their category. No Marketing tools or embedded social feeds are currently installed. Rejecting optional cookies does not block the marketplace, account features or forms.
Google translation has a separate, explicit permission in the language selector. It remains off until you have saved your cookie choices and choose Enable Google translation. You can disable it in the same selector.
4. Your choices
The first visit banner has equally prominent Accept all and Reject all buttons. Manage preferences opens the same panel as Cookie settings in the footer. Necessary cookies are always on; Analytics and Marketing can be selected separately. Choices last six months, then we ask again. Analytics loads only on a production site after Analytics consent.
You can change or withdraw your choice in the panel at any time. Turning an enabled category off reloads the page to stop already loaded scripts. Reject all also disables Google translation and removes the accessible translation cookie. Withdrawal does not recall information already sent to a provider. Other Google domain cookies must be managed through your browser or Google settings.
5. Third party services and affiliate links
Hosting, database, file storage, authentication software, email and AI services are described in our Privacy Policy. Google translation is optional. Vercel Web Analytics uses no analytics cookies in our implementation but is still gated by consent.
Partner, affiliate and social links take you to separate websites. Those websites set their own cookies once you leave this site. Their terms and privacy choices apply there. Our choice does not control their cookies.
6. Managing cookies in the browser
You can delete or block cookies and site storage in your browser. This may sign you out, reset preferences, remove drafts or make a guest saved collection inaccessible. It does not unsubscribe you from a database newsletter record.
7. Changes
We update this inventory when our storage or services change. The date above identifies the current policy. A changed optional use may require a fresh consent choice. Contact overlandfinds@gmail.com with questions.
